Northern Irishman PJ Conlon, covered in Darius’ excellent GB roundup pitched the first two innings of today’s Mets spring training game with the Houston Astros. The 23 year old Mets organisational pitcher of the year looked the part pitching to the Astros top brass including Jose Altuve, Josh Reddick and George Springer. He even threw in a plunking of noted strop artist and ex-Yankee Brian McCann, securing immediate cult status.
He ended with a line of 2IP, 1H, 0R, 0ER, 1BB, 0SO helped by a couple of hot plays in the Mets infield.
