So you think you know the 2020’s?

Most runs: Freddie Freeman (171 runs), Vlad Guerrero Jr. (157 runs). Trea Turner is fourth with 153 runs and Carlos Correa is down in 25th place with 126 runs

Most saves: Liam Hendriks (52 saves), Mark Melancon (50 saves). Raisel Iglesias is fifth with 42 saves. Craig Kimbrel and Aroldis Chapman are both outside of the top ten.

Most games: Both Marcus Semien and Whit Merrifield played every game in 2021, but Merrifield did not miss a Royals’ game in 2020 whereas Semien missed a week through injury. Coincidentally, both players also played all 162 games in 2019.

Most HBP: Mark Canha leads with 37 ahead of Antony Rizzo with 33. Willson Contreras is fourth with 28. Willy Adames has not been hit by a pitch in nearly 200 games this decade.

Dodgers ERA: Over the last two years combined, the Dodgers ERA is 3.03. No other team had an ERA below 3.60. Over the same period, the Orioles have a 5.49 ERA.

Most losses: The Baltimore Orioles and the Arizona Diamondbacks have both lost 145 games over the last two seasons. Pittsburgh Pirates are third-worst (142), with Colorado Rockies (121) and Detroit Tigers (120) in eighth and ninth.

Mike Trout starts: 89 games over the last two seasons. Until 2021, the Angels’ superstar averaged 145 games per year (only missing around 17 games each season).

Fewer than 1,000 runs: Despite 145 losses over the last two seasons, the Diamondbacks have scored more runs than the St Louis Cardinals’ tally of 946. Angels, Athletics and Reds are all in the top half of run-scorers with over 1,000 runs.

Most stolen bases: Kansas City Royals ran riot with 173 bags. Marlins are third with 157 and Rangers fourth with 155. The Reds are the least bag-hungry team in 30th position with just 65.

Home run leader: Salvador Perez is tied with Fernando Tatis Jr. at the top of the list with 58 home runs. Adam Duvall is fourth with 54. Bryce Harper and Aaron Judge way down in 13th position with 48 homers.

Most errors: Rafael Devers has made the most with 36. Tatis Jr. is tied in fifth with 24. It feels like Gary Sanchez‘s errors (12) always get the most coverage. Jason Heyward did not make an error in over 1,000 innings.

Most walks: It is Bryce Harper with 149 walks who is second behind Juan Soto. Carlos Santana is fourth with 133. Joey Votto is outside of the top ten. Yasmani Grandal has a higher walk rate than Harper, Santana or Votto but had far fewer plate appearances.
