At Bat Flips & Nerds, our mission is to help fans back home get to know the players, so that baseball supporters in the UK feel more connected to the Great Britain national team.
In the absence of a proper media guide—and with only scattered information available online—we’ve put together a series of “Meet the Players” pages: one each for infielders, outfielders, catcher/DH, and pitchers. It’s not perfect, but it’s a step toward shining more light on the roster.
Looking ahead to the 2026 World Baseball Classic and the 2027 European Championships, we hope to gain access to more detailed information. That way, we can continue growing the profile of these players and strengthening support for the GB national team.
Drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in July 2025, Will was thrown in at the deep end when Harry Ford‘s absence became inevitable.
The 21-year-old is making his debut for GB at the European Championship, following quickly on from making his Single-A debut for Dunedin.

Eurobaseball 2025: He has played all three pool games behind the plate, going 2-for-12 with three walks, two runs, and two RBI.
Originally from the British Virgin Islands, Shamoy was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 20th round of the 2016 draft.
In the 2023 European Championship, he flashed big-league power with a pair of homers – one which may still be travelling two years later.
The switch-hitting slugger is a threat to launch a home run every single time he comes to the plate.

Veteran of the Euro 2023 silver medal team. Michael was an integral member of the team, playing in all six games.
Product of the London Youth Baseball League and London Mets, where he played for former GB Head Coach, Drew Spencer.

EDITOR’S NOTE: The GB roster also has Andrew Johnston (Bullpen catcher) – he is unlisted on the WBSC website, and the organisers didn’t produce a media guide, so it is very difficult to get reliable info. Anyway, I have it on good authority that Andrew is a top bloke.
